CHARLOTTESVILE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The City of Charlottesville announced a resident survey to get input on government services and measure the quality of life in the community. Charlottesville plans to use this data in its upcoming strategic plan.

City Manager Sam Sanders on Morning News this past week talked about areas of accomplishment and work still needing to be done… and notes progress in public safety and Police Chief Mike Kochis’ work building community trust. He also notes the overhaul of the list of transportation projects needing to be done, which late last year was overly ambitious for the amount of funding and capabilities needed to be accomplished.

The survey seeks feedback on local topics like unity design, utilities, safety, natural environment, inclusivity, engagement, and other elements of Charlottesville’s overall livability. The survey helps leaders understand community strengths, areas for improvement, and priorities that matter most. It also allows Charlottesville to compare its performance with other cities across the country.

Who Can Participate? All residents 18 years and older are encouraged to take the survey at polco.us/charlottesville2025op (link). Responses are anonymous, and all personal information is securely protected.
“We need as many voices as possible to ensure our decisions reflect the needs of the entire community,” Sanders said.
“This is your chance to make a difference in Charlottesville’s future.”
