CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — Chris Greene Lake has reopened amidst a delay in its paving project due to winter weather.
The park was closed on Monday with plans to stay closed until Friday so the main road and all parking areas could be repaved. However, due to weather conditions and colder temperatures, the project has been postponed until further notice, and a new timeline is still being determined.
In a press release, Albemarle County officials said they anticipate paving to begin again next week, but if colder weather persists, the project could be further postponed.
Chris Greene Lake is one of the county’s 15 parks, all of which are open daily from 7 a.m. until dark.
