Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): The 2024 Valley League Coach of The Year will be back for another go-around in 2025 at Charlottesville High School.  Former Pittsburgh Pirates righthander Randy Tomlin will lead the Charlottesville TomSox through the 2025 season, according to an October 29th announcement.   Tomlin’s pitching staff led the league in ERA, and the hitters were top three in the majority of all relevant offensive categories in league statistics.  Six of his players were also named to the league’s all-star team and post-season awards team.

Tomlin said of the climate in this year’s clubhouse “The atmosphere was very good, and I felt like there was a lot of commitment to the growth of everything involved in the organization, to myself, and to the players.”

The TomSox won their fourth championship in club history last season, after defeating the Purcellville Cannons two games to one in the league championship series.  Should Tomlin and the Sox earned their fifth title, it will be the first time the team has gone back-to-back as champions in its history.
