CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Solomon Banjo, a 36-year-old Charlottesville man, was among the victims killed in Saturday’s shooting at the American Fish Company in Southport, N.C., Southport Police announced Wednesday.
SPD responded to the waterfront restaurant on Yacht Basin Dr. for a report of gunshots being fired. Three people were killed in the incident, in which “a boat with a single occupant opened fire,” SPD announced.
Joy Rogers, 64, of Southport, N.C., and Michael Durbin, 56, of Galena, Ohio, were the other victims.
SPD arrested Nigel Max Edge and charged him with three counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted first-degree murder, and five accounts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
Edge is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 13.
