CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville City Schools is launching a community engagement process to discuss and gather feedback on potential elementary school rezoning. A city schools release says possible changes to current attendance zones – which haven’t been significantly updated in 50 years – would prevent overcrowding of individual elementary schools, particularly in light of housing developments and other City or UVA policies that might bring an increased number of students into the schools. In early fall, the schools selected the consulting firm Woolpert to guide the process… and the schools have additionally formed two advisory groups.
