Charles Russell Gray, affectionately called “Bubba” transitioned into his eternal resting place on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the age of 59. Preceded in death by his father, Charles Russell Gray Sr. and his maternal grandmother, Virginia J. Brown.

He is survived by his loving mother, Virginia Gray of Charlottesville, Va.; one brother, James E. Brown of Charlottesville, Va.; three sisters, Queen E. Hooks of Hopewell, Va., Joyce A. Brown and Maria Gray both of Charlottesville, Va.; one aunt, Vernell Ross of Shipman, Va. A beloved brother, Kevin Johnson; and a very dear “devoted friend” Michael Gook, both of Charlottesville, Va. A host of nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends.

Charles “Bubba” graduated from CHS in 1983. He was a skilled drywall installer for over 25 years. He loved fishing and sports, he was a rock enthusiastic. Bubba always had a warm and beautiful smile no matter what was going on. He was a very kind hearted and sweet person and we will miss him dearly.
