Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – On this week’s Chamber Live segment, Allison Linney, President and CEO of Allison Partners, joined the show to share her insights on leadership. Linney, whose company is celebrating 25 years, spoke about the importance of effective leadership in the workplace.

“We help people with the messy, complicated, wonderful people stuff that happens at work,” Linney said during the interview, reflecting on her firm’s approach to organizational development. She emphasized that many companies promote their best employees into supervisory roles without training them on how to lead, which can cause issues. Linney revealed that her firm will be holding a second “Art of Being a Great Boss” class in February due to high demand.

We don’t teach people how to be good supervisors, we just promote them” Linney explained, highlighting the need for leadership development. She also emphasized the importance of employee engagement, explaining that a strong relationship with a supervisor is the biggest driver of job satisfaction.
