CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a structural collapse at the Advanced Auto Parts location at 100 South Pantops Dr. where the business’s roof apparently collapsed under the weight of heavy ice and snow.

No one was trapped or injured in the collapse, according to an ACFR spokesperson.

ACFR received the report at approximately 6:21 p.m. of a roof collapse at a commercial building.

“Crews arrived on scene within minutes and found a partial roof collapse at the rear of the building. No occupants were trapped or injured,” the spokesperson told Cville Right Now. “The collapse is believed to be related to the recent winter weather, including the buildup of snow and ice. There were no additional hazards identified at the scene.”
