LOUISA COUNTY, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – Route 640 (East Jack Jouett Road) has reopened in Louisa County following the completion of a bridge replacement project over Camp Creek, according to a release from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The previous bridge, built in 1950, was classified as structurally deficient and limited to a 20-ton weight capacity. The steel beam and concrete deck structure was only 12 feet wide. VDOT’s crews replaced it with a new 18-foot-wide steel beam and timber deck structure, capable of supporting all legal vehicle loads.
