Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): VDOT has closed Ivy Road to traffic in both directions between the 250 bypass and the Charlottesville West City limits due to a pipe failure that has damaged the roadway.  

Crews are currently on the scene at the time of writing are engaged in repairs.  

VDOT officials expect that the closures will last as long as it takes for repairs to be completed, which according to the release will take most of the day as the pipe needs to replaced and roadway needs to be repaired.  

This article will be updated with any new information, and VDOT has encouraged those in the affected area to follow its Culpepper District Facebook page for any updates as they arrive.  Take alternate routes and avoid the affected area.
