Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)Grace Thrush and Ford McCracken of Cavalier Daily first reported that the UVA board of visitors has received a letter of no confidence calling for the immediate resignation of both Craig Kent, CEO of UVA Health, and Melinda Kibbe, dean of the School of Medicine, medicine professor and chief health affairs officer.

Thursh and McCracken report that the letter was signed by 128 U.Va. Physicians Group-employed faculty, and alleges that the leadership of the two have failed to create a climate that prioritizes patient safety and created a culture of fear over their charge.

The writers of letter state that “Craig Kent and Melinda Kibbe have not only undermined but also directly attacked the values that inspired us to study, teach and work at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and U.Va. Health,”

Cavalier Daily also reiterate that no information on those who have signed the letter has been released to the public yet, the board can request information on those who signed the letter, and it would be released to a small audience in a closed room.
