Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): For the first time ever, the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont on Melbourne Road in Charlottesville will be hosting a Botanical Art Festival. The program of special events will begin on Saturday, September 7th and run until Thursday, September 12th.
You can enter the garden and take in the beauty of the cultivation taking place across its grounds and enjoy many other artistic offerings courtesy of some of the prominent local artists and corporations in the Charlottesville area! There will be a scavenger hunt for all ages through the garden and a hunt for rocks featuring popular book covers scattered around the property. Both the flower and rock hunts are available all 5 days of the festival. A variety of artistic workshops are on offer during the festival, including learning the basics of nature journalism and garden painting, decorating walking sticks, and crafting paper flowers.
The festival will conclude with a Botanical Art Show, beginning at 6:30 on Thursday evening with a cocktail party at the Bradbury. There will be live music during the show as well.
