RUCKERSVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Boot’Vil, a Ruckersville store that has been in business for 40 years, is closing.

The store’s owner, Mallory Lamb, said on Facebook that last year’s loss of her mother has made it hard to rekindle her passion for the store, which sold custom western boots, work boots and apparel.

While the store will be closing, someone else will take over the company’s mobile unit to find new ways to serve in the future.

The following is Lamb’s post on Facebook.

After much reflection and a heavy heart, I am writing to share that Boot’Vil will be closing its doors after 40 incredible years of serving this community. My journey, which began with my mother’s belief in me and has carried on for the last 9 years under my ownership, has been filled with so many special memories. Watching my children grow up in the store, meeting countless new people, and being part of a community that I hold so dear has been nothing short of a blessing.

However, life has taken me in a different direction. Since losing my mother last year, my passion for the store has been hard to rekindle. Between raising five children, managing a full-time job, and countless other responsibilities, I have found myself spread too thin. My heart and energy need to be focused on things that will help me, my family, and my long-term goals.

I am incredibly grateful to each and every one of you—our loyal customers—who have supported us over the last 40 years. You’ve truly become part of the Boot’Vil family, and I will miss you all dearly. Small businesses like ours can’t survive without the amazing community that rallies behind them, and we are forever thankful for that.

A very special thank you goes to my wonderful, loyal employees, Liz and Wanda, who have been with me on this wild ride. We have shared laughter, tears, joys, and sorrows, and I truly couldn’t have made it this far without them. You both are my family and will always be. Your dedication, hard work, and unwavering support mean more to me than words can express.

Starting tomorrow, March 4th, everything in the store will be 25% off as we begin our Closing Sale. While we may be closing the storefront, this isn’t the end of Boot’Vil. Stay tuned, because we may just pop up again with our mobile unit! I’ve made a business deal with Paisley, who will be taking over the mobile unit, and we look forward to finding new ways to serve you in the future.

For now, I encourage you to stop by this month to visit with Liz and Wanda, and take advantage of the 25% off sale.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for 40 wonderful years. Happy Trails, and we hope to see you again soon.
