ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The boil water advisory put into effect along Route 29 near the North Fork Rivanna River was lifted Friday afternoon.
A Christmas Eve water main break forced the Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA) to issue an advisory in a significant area around Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Airport. Full service returned that same night by 8:30 p.m., but two consecutive negative tests by authorities were required to lift the advisory.
Water testing now shows the water to be safe, but ACSA recommends customers empty and clean any automatic ice makers and water chillers. Service connections with a water softener/cartridge filter should be run through a regeneration cycle or other procedures recommended by the manufacturer.
