VERONA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – April is National Volunteer Month and with record demand that has been sparked by inflation the last few years, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is looking for volunteer help. Volunteer and Food Drive Coordinator Livia Marrs says each year they have around 1500 volunteers across their 25-county, 8-city service area. And right now, she says the rise in service demand means they need more people to distribute food, especially at this time in Orange County.

Volunteers need to be 12-years old or older and accompanied by an adult if under 18. People distributing food will need to be able lift boxes up to 20-pounds or so. You can go to BRAFB-dot-org for volunteer opportunities near you.
