Dr. Beverly Ann Pawson, age 90, of Charlottesville, Va. passed away peacefully on Friday November 29, 2024 at Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge. Born in 1934 in East Orange, N.J. Beverly was the daughter of Elsie (Anthony) and Byard Pawson.
A magna cum laude graduate in chemistry of Smith College, Beverly went on to receive her PhD degree in organic chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. An accomplished chemist in her field, Beverly held a postdoctoral position at the Mellon Institute and was the Associate Director of Chemical Research at Hoffman-La Roche.
Beverly married fellow chemist and the love of her life, Dr. Arnold A. Liebman, in 1977. Beverly enjoyed travelling the world, opera, golf, playing bridge, the needle arts, and spending time with friends.
Surviving her are her four step-children, Evelyn (Rene Demuynck) Liebman, Richard Liebman, Jeanne (Brian) Albanese, Alexander (Jennifer Platt) Liebman; her grandchildren Sophia (Heidi) and Valere Demuynck; her great-grandson Cooper Demuynck; and cousins.
Beverly was proceeded in death by her husband and parents. Beverly will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her friend and companion Sandra Miller.
