Bettyanne Mattry-Robinson was born on December 15th, 1950 the daughter of the late Nellie and Daniel Mattry. She passed away on Wednesday March 6th, 2024 in the comfort of her home at 4747 Wren Ct., Charlottesville, Virginia.
Bettyanne grew up in Hempstead NY, attending both catholic and public schools. After high school she found her calling within the civilian side of government service giving a total of 37 years to the United Postal Service and Defense Contract Administration. It was at this time that she met what would become her best friend and soul sister Hilda Washington-Lee.

Bettyanne was a lover of music and could often be found singing lyrics by Lenny Williams, “Cause I Love you” or “Cry Together” by the O’Jays. A shining example of a positive and free spirit, Bettyanne touched the hearts and minds of all those around her. She leaves to cherish precious memories, her children Jeremiah, Makhi, Malonte, Rory, Shameka, Tameka, and TyLynn, as well as many foster children whose lives she touched; brother Dan Mattry and wife Sharon, soul sister Hilda Washington-Lee, nieces Dana Johnson, Jamila Martin, Lakisha Ulmer, and Shamia Mattry, nephews Baron Martin, Mustafa Mattry, Raymond (Ray Ray) Renick, Taveek Mattry, and Victor Jackson as well as a host of grandnieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father Nellie and Daniel, sister and brother Linda and Raymond. We know that Bettyanne joins a loving group of angels.

Family, friends, and others were invited to the J.F. Bell Funeral Home, at 108 Sixth Street N.W. Charlottesville, VA from 2 – 5 pm on March 13th, 2024 to reminisce and honor the life of Bettyanne.
