CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – After years of planning, and three years of construction, the Belmont Bridge will be completely finished Friday. And 11 Friday morning, the city will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony.  Mayor Wade, City Manager Sam Sanders, and Public Works Director Steven Hicks will speak at the event. Mayor Wade, a couple of weeks ago on Morning News, gave construction planners and crews a lot of credit being able to keep the bridge open to traffic while the construction was going on. This new bridge was designed with multiple modes of transportation — vehicles, bikes, and pedestrians — in mind.
