CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) –Cavalier Baseball will be represented by rising sophomores Henry Ford and Eric Becker at USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team’s training camp that started on June 26th. Ford and Becker’s inclusion will mark the Cavaliers’ representation on 5 of the last 6 USA Baseball Collegiate National Teams dating back to 2017.
The Team will consist of 56 players, all non-draft eligible, who will comprise two squads that will battle each other on June 26th and 27th to determine two rosters for USA Baseballs’ exhibition series. Depending on how this intersquad game goes, Ford and Becker will be playing on one of two rosters. First is the International Friendship Series, that will battle a squad from Chinese Taipei in a five-game set, or on the Summer League Tour Roster, who will play a four-game set against teams from the Coastal Plains and Appalachian Leagues.
It all ends on the 4th of July with a battle between the two squads in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
