CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – Barboursville Vineyards has won the 2025 Virginia Governor’s Cup for its 2023 Vermentino, a white wine made from estate-grown grapes. The award was announced March 13 at the Governor’s Cup Gala in Richmond.

The competition, now in its 43rd year, received over 600 entries from more than 140 Virginia producers. Wines were judged on appearance, aroma, flavor, overall quality, and commercial suitability.
