CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CvilleRightNow) – Governor Youngkin has announced today more than $129-million in Affordable and Special Needs Housing loans for 78 projects across the Commonwealth…with nearly $17-million for projects in our area. The objective creating and preserving more than 5300 total units statewide for low-income and extremely low-income households. The loan pool provides low-interest loans to meet the financing needs of housing projects directed toward key state housing policies. Repayment rates and terms will be tailored to each project’s needs.
The Piedmont Housing Alliance is getting some $12.6-million for Cherry A and Cherry B projects, as well as Friendship Village Phase 2, and 1025-A and 1025-B Park Street.
Greater Charlottesville Habitat for Humanity is getting $3.3-million for Southwood 1 rentals, as well as single-family and townhouse units in Southwood Village 3.
And Community Services Housing is getting $900,000 for Northeast 11th Street housing.
