ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors has officially named Andy Herrick as County Attorney, effective February 1, 2025. Herrick has been serving as Interim County Attorney since September 1, 2024. He will oversee the County Attorney’s Office, provide legal counsel to the Board of Supervisors, and represent Albemarle County in legal matters.

“We are delighted to appoint Andy Herrick as our County Attorney,” said Jim Andrews, Chair of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. “Mr. Herrick’s extensive experience, thoughtful leadership, and dedication to Albemarle County make him the ideal choice to solidify the leadership of the County Attorney’s Office and position it for future success.”

Before joining Albemarle County, Herrick held positions as Assistant County Attorney for James City County and practiced law in Williamsburg, where he worked with the Williamsburg City Attorney. He earned his undergraduate degree, law degree, and MBA from the College of William & Mary.
