Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Delegate Amy Laufer has officially launched her re-election campaign for Virginia’s House of Delegates District 55. Serving since 2023, Laufer is seeking to extend her legislative efforts through 2025.
“I’m really grateful and excited to share this announcement,” Laufer said during an interview on Cville Right Now Live. She emphasized her goal to start the year with strong momentum ahead of the upcoming General Assembly session.
Reflecting on her tenure, Laufer highlighted key legislative achievements that underscore her dedication to critical issues. She expressed pride in the passage of a marriage equality bill, “I’m really proud that we did a marriage equality bill last year,” Laufer shared. She also celebrated a bipartisan measure to ban auto sears, a significant effort to curb gun violence, which was signed into law by the governor.
In addition, Laufer advanced measures to streamline hiring in early education and support indoor agricultural equipment, reflecting her commitment to workforce development and innovation. These accomplishments, she noted, demonstrate her focus on improving the lives of her constituents through diverse and impactful legislation.
Looking ahead, Laufer outlined her priorities for the next term, including a maternal health remote monitoring program, transportation studies for underserved communities, and innovative recycling initiatives. “Let’s keep Virginia moving forward—a good place to raise our families, live, grow a business, and create jobs,” she stated.
