STANARDSVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UPDATE 12/16, 12:05pm: A small portion of Skyline Drive has reopened after being closed because of icy conditions. Shenandoah National Park has opened the portion of the road from the northern entrance point in Front Royal to MM 5 at the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center. The rest of the road from MM 5 to MM 105 at Rockfish Gap remains closed.

ORIGINAL:

Frozen precipitation from the weekend into the overnight has the entire length of Skyline Drive closed again until further notice. Also, Route 33 up the mountain to Swift Run Gap between Greene and Rockingham counties is icy and snowy as you move toward higher elevation. The road is open and has been treated, but caution is advised for those needing to drive that route throughout Monday.
