CHARLOTTESVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Schools has begun kindergarten registration, and School Board Chair Kate Acuff urges parents to register so the schools can get a head count for the start in the fall. Families with children who will be 5-years old by September 30 can register.
Acuff says they’re also taking applications for pre-K programs for 4-year olds… but also for 3-year olds with special education needs. She says there are four programs, but one application will do the trick even as each program has some different eligibility criteria. The programs are Special Ed; Title 1 for school with a high percentage of low income families; Head Start; and the state/county program called Bright Stars.
