CROZET, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue will conduct training exercises over two separate weeks in Crozet starting Tuesday of which they want to alert the public. County public safety PIO Logan Bogert says community members will see an increased police and fire presence in the area around Musictoday at 5400 Three Notch’d Road on weekdays from January 21-31, 8 am to 4 pm daily. The county wants to spread the word this is a training exercise only and there is no cause for alarm.
Additionally, please be aware that these exercises will include simulated radio traffic on encrypted channels, with clear announcements stating it is part of a drill. They’re sharing this information proactively in case any exercise-related radio traffic is inadvertently broadcast beyond the intended channel. If you are listening to a scanner and hear radio traffic from the training exercise, there is no cause for alarm.
