FREE UNION, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle Police are releasing more information on the June 23 Boonesville Road shooting incident for which a vigil was held in Crozet earlier this week for the victim. For the first time, police are identifying 61-year old Thomas G. Forbes as a suspect who was taken into custody that morning. Police describe the 8am incident as domestic in nature, which resulted in life-threatening injury… and remains under investigation.

Based on the investigation at this point, officers have determined the incident involved an argument and struggle with a firearm, which in turn caused the firearm to discharge and injure an adult female. The family identifies the woman as Krystal Frazier.

Forbes remains held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail on a charge, at this time, of reckless handling of a firearm.
