CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue are conducting training exercises involving simulated radio traffic through Wednesday. An Albemarle County public safety release urges residents to “please be aware that these exercises include simulated radio traffic on encrypted channels, with clear announcements stating it is part of a drill.”
“We are sharing this information proactively in case any exercise-related radio traffic is inadvertently broadcast beyond the intended channel. If you are listening to the scanner and hear radio traffic from the training exercise, this is a training exercise only, and there is no cause for alarm.”
