CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Abbey Stumpf, interim director of communications for Albemarle County, recently shared updates on various county initiatives. Former UVA football player Paris Jones inspired county employees with a talk about perseverance following his recovery from a severe injury. Jones discussed the importance of staying true to one’s mission despite challenges.

County Executive Jeff Richardson facilitated Jones’ talk to recognize local heroes and role models. Stumpf remarked, “We don’t have to pull in folks from all over the country to have these meaningful talks; we have this right in our backyard.”

In other county news, Stumpf provided updates on ongoing real estate property assessments, ensuring accurate data for evaluations. Additionally, new EV charging station fees will take effect on July 1, aiming to balance financial responsibility with sustainable practices.

Stumpf also discussed the new courts complex under construction, a long-term project expected to be substantially completed by early 2025. For updates on the project, including road and sidewalk closures, visit Albemarle County Courts Complex.
