ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A suspicious fire in the 200 block of Wahoo Way is under investigation by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office. Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to the fire alarm early Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at approximately 4:25 a.m.

Upon arrival, fire crews found smoke coming from an apartment unit and two fire alarms activated. The fire was quickly extinguished by 4:52 a.m. No injuries were reported as the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious, and officials are asking for assistance from the public.
