CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Virginia Men’s Basketball team led basically wire to wire in Blacksburg, and at times were up by as many as 15 points, but of course, in typical rivalry fashion the Hokies stormed back to make it a one possession game in the second half. However, every time VT made a run it was either Isaac McNeely or Anthony Robinson who provided the answer. McNeely scored 22 points with several clutch threes to end Hokie runs, and Anthony Robinson poured in 15 energetic hustle points along with 7 rebounds and a crucial dunk down the stretch to power UVA to a 73-70 win on the road. Afterwards, Interim Head Coach Ron Sanchez was pleased with the performance, as he spoke to Jimmy Miller on the WINA Virginia Sports Radio Network:
UVA Sophomore forward Anthony Robinson also joined the postgame:
Now the Cavaliers turn their attention to No. 2 Duke, which of course features the top freshman and one of the leading candidates for national player of the year Cooper Flagg. The game tips off at 8p.m. with coverage on WINA beginning at 7 p.m. with Cavalier Countdown.
