CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Police have identified additional victims of Maxwell Mandell, the Crozet babysitter and music teacher accused of sexual assault.

Mandell, 24, was arrested on Dec. 5 and is being held, without bond, at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. He is charged with felony aggravated sexual battery and felony indecent liberties with a child.

Wednesday, ACPD announced that it had obtained evidence suggesting additional victims and it urged anyone who hired Mandell in the past to contact them. ACPD said other victims could be in the Blacksburg area, where it said Mandell previously resided.

“The Albemarle County Police Department knows additional victims are out there,” ACPD spokesperson Logan Bogert told Cville Right Now. “We want to hear from anyone who has had professional dealings with Mr. Mandell, particularly in the last three years. One of the challenges we’re facing is identifying these victims. Maybe you don’t even now you’re a victim. There’s no harm in calling.”
