DILLWYN, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – State Police say one of seven killed in traffic crashes over the Memorial Day holiday weekend happened on Cartersville Road near Route 15 in Buckingham County about 5 miles outside of Dillwyn. State Police’s Matt Demlein says a 64-year old Jane O. Brown of New Canton was driving a 2007 Mazda 6 eastbound on Cartersville heading away from 15 about 7:15 Saturday morning when she lost control of the vehicle, ran off the right side of the road, rolled over, and struck a tree. Brown was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation. Seven people were killed in seven crashes over the holiday weekend.
