CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A 58-year-old Bumpass man died Fourth of July morning in an apparent drowning at a home swimming pool, according to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office.

David Rush Figuly was “found face down in a pool” and unresponsive after deputies and emergency personnel responded to call at approximately 8:26 a.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Diggstown Rd. Figuly was pronounced dead at 8:38 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

An investigation into Figuly’s death has commenced, but there were no initial signs of foul play, according to the sheriff’s office.

“The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office offers its thoughts and condolences to the family and friends of the deceased as they navigate this tragic loss,” Louisa County Sheriff Donald Lowe said in a statement.
