CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WINA) – Albemarle Police have identified the woman who was killed during what the department calls a domestic incident at the Red Hill Apartments on Tuesday, June 20.
Laura DePaul, 46, was the day shelter manager at The Haven, the day shelter and social resource center on West Main Street created to to address homelessness in Charlottesville.
DePaul left behind five children. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family fund the funeral. Money raised beyond that will go to DePaul’s children, ages 8 to 17. A Meal Train account has also been set up for meal donation.
Albemarle police have yet to identify the suspect.
