WAYNESBORO (WINA) – Weather permitting, VDOT will be closing the left lane of eastbound I-64 tonight on a portion between exits 91 and 94 in the Waynesboro area to repair a sinkhole. The sinkhole discovered Tuesday during routine maintenance near the interstate is about 7 feet long, 3 feet deep, and 10 feet deep. Crews have been monitoring it since it was found.

The repairs are scheduled to start Monday night at 7pm at which time the eastbound left lane will be closed at the location until the repairs are complete. Depending on the size, shape, and location of the entire sinkhole, ongoing lane closures are possible.
