CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WINA) – The University of Virginia used Monday to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the shooting deaths of football players Devin Chandler, D’Sean Perry, Lavel Davis Jr.

The five were on board a bus that had just returned from a D.C. field trip when Christopher Darnell Jones allegedly started firing.

Chandler, Perry and Davis were remembered by way of a several events, including a public gathering at Old Cabell Hall.

Following that gathering, the bells at the UVA chapel bells played Amazing Grace, followed by single tolls for Devin, D’Sean and Lavel.

Chris Jones faces a litany of charges, including aggravated murder, which carries a sentence of life without parole.

Jones’ next court appearance is scheduled for February.
