CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – UVa men’s basketball legend Wally Walker is returning to the University as Deputy Athletics Director. Walker starred for the University of Virginia in the mid-70s and was tournament MVP when the Cavaliers won their first ACC Tournament title in 1976… leading to the Cavs first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He won two NBA titles as a player, and was a successful NBA team executive over the years.

After having also worked for Goldman Sachs, he comes to UVa as Chief Revenue Officer for Virginia Athletics, and will coordinate relationships and strategic partnerships with Cav Futures… the official UVa NIL entity.
