CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – 12:30PM UPDATE:

An update from Ting Internet in trying to restore service after a Court Square utility pole was destroyed in a traffic crash Monday evening:
Their field teams continue work to restore service to the affected customers in the downtown core.
Due to unexpected complications, the work is taking longer than expected.
They expect to see customers coming up one at a time over the next few hours as their fiber strands are replaced and respliced.
They say they have multiple splicing teams on site working as quickly as possible, and thank customers for their patience.
They say they will continue to provide further updates as information becomes available.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Ting Internet, which late last night said they’d try to have all service restored by 6 this morning, has posted an update just after 8:30 that they’re still working on it. They say “Our field crews were deployed at about 6 AM EST to continue working on splicing the fiber as restoring the power by Dominion repair crew took longer than expected to finish.”

They currently do not have an ETA for full restoration of service for the customers affected by this outage, “but have people on-site working diligently on the issue.”

They say they’ll continue to provide further updates as information becomes available.
