CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – A Charlottesville grand jury has returned two indictments against a Suffolk man accused of abducting a UVa student near Rugby Road last fall.
Charges of abduction and malicious wounding have been returned against James Robert Allen who was arrested in Louisa County the day after allegedly dragging a UVa student into his vehicle the night of October 4 on Cabell Avenue that soon crashed.

The victim was able to escape as neighbors emerged from homes and the vehicle sped away. The student was treated at UVa for non-life threatening injuries.

Court documents say he’ll be arraigned in Charlottesville Circuit Court March 12, and a two-day trial is slated for May 20 and 21.
