SCHUYLER (WINA) – State Police divers have recovered the last body from an SUV that was submerged trying to cross the Rockfish River near Schuyler around Christmas time. State Police’s Corinne Geller reports divers returning to the river this (Friday) morning found the body shortly before 10. It’s now at the medical examiner’s office for examination and positive ID.
The SUV was found submerged December 27th near the intersection of Bridgeport Lane and Johnson Hollow after it tried to cross the rushing river on private property. Geller says they still don’t know when the vehicle went in, and no one has come forward to say they were waiting for them or anything like that.
The body of 30-year old Pharoh Shabazz was recovered from inside the vehicle that day.
The bodies of 17-year old Christopher Doss and an 11-year old male were located on the riverbank.
On January 27th, the body of 18-year old Mason Sylvestre was located.
Geller says divers have returned to the river every week since the SUV was found nine weeks ago in attempts to recover all the bodies.
