NELLYSFORD (WINA) – After what’s been a tough season with snowmaking machines having to work overtime, Wintergreen is hanging up the ski season Sunday at 5pm. In an operations update from the resort, a statement reads “the southeast has experienced two consecutive weeks of record warm temperatures far above the seasonable norms for February”.
It further reads “in spite of a valient effort to keep the ski season going by making snow at every opportunity, we’ve made the difficult decison to conclude the ski season”.
They say affordable passes will be available Saturday and Sunday, and they look forward to kicking off the next season in December.
