LOUISA (WINA) – Someone who purchased a ticket in Louisa for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing is a millionaire. The Virginia Lottery’s John Hagerty says the ticket was purchased at the Louisa Mini Mart at 305 West Main Street right in the middle of town. The ticket matched the first five numbers, but missed the Powerball number… which is good for $1-million. But because this person paid the extra dollar for Power Play, they’ve doubled the winning amount which is $2-million in this case.

Hagerty says they have not heard from the winner yet, and that person now has 180 days from Wednesday to redeem it or forfeit the prize to the state.

Hagerty says the Powerball jackpot has been quietly rolling up and no one matched all six numbers for the $572-million prize… so the estimated jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing is $620-million.
