CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Natalie Oschrin got more votes than anyone as she, Michael Payne, and Lloyd Snook took the Democrats’ nominations for three City Council seats. Payne and Snook are incumbents as Oschrin appears ready to take Leah Puryear’s seat after she decided she’s not running for election. Puryear was chosen by Council in February to finish out the term of Sena Magill who resigned. Oschrin was one of the finalists trying to finish out Magill’s term. Even though Puryear was picked, Snook said he encouraged the young candidate to remain engaged, and while it was not yet their time, their time was perhaps coming.
The vote went the exact way fundraising did as Oschrin was the top fundraiser with Payne second, and Snook third. Dashad Cooper and Bob Fenwick raise no funds.
