CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Charlottesville Police are reporting a man shot during a fight early Saturday morning at the Downtown Mall.. and NBC29 says the BUCK Squad was there trying to temper the fight. BUCK Squad’s Bryan Page says they were trying to calm things in the 200 block of West Main when someone walked up and punched someone in the face who had a gun in his hand, and that’s when shots were fired.
A 35 year old male resident of Charlottesville was transported to UVA Medical Center and is being treated for a gunshot wound to the ankle.

Then at approximately 7:45 p.m. Saturday evening, officers responded to a shots fired call at the 100 block of Stewart Cir. Upon arrival, multiple shell casings were found.
There are no reports of injury or property damage.
