CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – In Charlottesville representing the Commonwealth’s $50-million investment in the Paul and Diane Manning Biotechology Center groundbreaking in Fontaine, Governor Youngkin said this is part of a larger plan. The Governor said he’s asking for another $50-million in the upcoming budget to the center… plus $27-million for the Virginia Tech Patient Reseach Center, and $13-million for the VCU Medicine For All Institute.
The goal… establishing a biotech and pharmaceutical collaboration that is Virginia’s version of a research triangle. Paul Manning’s vision for the UVa Health center is creating worldwide research rivaling UMass in Boston, Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, and Duke in the North Carolina research triangle.
