CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (October 16, 2023) — The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is pleased to introduce Libby Jones as its newly appointed Executive Director. With an impressive career spanning over a decade in animal welfare, veterinary medicine, and zoology, including pivotal leadership roles at influential organizations such as the Humane Society of Charlotte, Guilford County, and her most recent position as Chief Operations Officer at Seattle Humane, Jones brings a wealth of invaluable experience to her new role.

“We are thrilled to have Libby Jones join this amazing organization,” said Jenn Corbey, Board President of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. “The input, thoughts and insight of our staff was of utmost importance to us while seeking a new Executive Director. With her help, we will continue on this upward trend, growing our shelter and focusing on our vision and mission.”

During this transitional period, Sue Friedman will continue her role as Interim Director of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, providing support to Jones as she takes on her new responsibilities over the coming weeks.
