KENT’S STORE (WINA) – Fluvanna County deputies have arrested a 24-year old man in the alleged murder of his aunt in a Kent’s Store home this (Friday) morning. Around 6:15am, deputies were called for a disturbance in the 100 block of Ferncliff Farms Lane. When deputies arrived, they were led into the residence by witnesses and found 57-year old Carolyn Faith Grooms suffering head injuries. Despite combined CPR efforts by witnesses, deputies, then EMS, Grooms died at the scene.

Her 24-year old nephew Quentin Lamar Burgess, who lived in the home with her, was arrested and charged with homicide.

The cause of the initial disturbance is still under investigation.
