CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – No one Tuesday night’s $1.1-billion MegaMillions jackpot drawing which means Friday night’s drawing if for an estimated one-and-a-quarter-billion dollars. The Virginia Lottery’s John Hagerty says, though, there are 132,000 tickets purchased that won smaller prizes — including a $10,000 winner who purchased a ticket at the Sheetz on Seminole Trail in Madison County.

Hagerty says a large number of winners is not surprising since more people play when the jackpot gets huge. Someone who purchased a ticket online in Hampton is a $40,000 winner for matching 4 of the first 5 numbers and the Megaball.

There is also another online winner… someone who purchased a $10,000 ticket from Sterling.
