TREVILIANS (WINA) – The Louisa County Sheriff is investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting death of a 34-year old man after responding to a location near Trevilians. Deputies were called to the 2100 block of South Spotswood Trail at 3:46pm and pronounced a man dead at the scene they had determined had been shot someplace several miles away.

While releasing few details, the sheriff says it’s determined the person who fired the shot is known to the victim and it appears to be an isolated incident and not an ongoing threat to the community. The sheriff’s office is releasing no other information about a suspect, and are withholding the ID of the victim until family is notified.

Anyone who knows anything about the incident is urged to call Louisa Crime Solvers at 800-346-1466 or the Louisa sheriff’s office at 540-967-1234.
